In 1990 United nations started an index which is a composite statistic to understand and rankhuman development of a country across the world. “ The Human Development Index (HDI) is asummary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living.” Originally HDIconsists of three variables namely Mean year of schooling, GNI(PPP) and Life expectancy.
