Agenda 2000: New EU Financing Regime

The Berlin European Council of March 1999 reached an agreement on Agenda 2000, accepting the Commission's proposals, although with substantial modifications. Key elements of the Agenda will be reforms of the structural and agricultural policies and of the financial framework for medium-term funding of the European Union, including financing of eastern enlargement.
