Aggregation of periods for unemployment benefits : report on U1 portable documents for mobile workers : reference year 2021

The scope of the report is limited to the number of PDs U1 received from EU/EFTA/UK movers who became unemployed in their Member State of last activity and needed additional periods completed in a Member State other than the competent Member State to be entitled to an unemployment benefit. However, a PD U1 might also be asked for other situations.5 Some Member States provided data on the total group of persons for which a PD U1 was received without selecting for those issued under Article 61 of the Basic Regulation. Consequently, there are several reservations concerning the scope of the reported data, which affect the analysis and conclusions.
