Assessment of ground-level ozone in EEA member countries, with a focus on long-term trends

In this study, long-term measurements of rural background ozone levels are analysed and compared with modelling results and sensitivity analyses. Rural background stations are used in order to rule out the influence of local conditions close to sources of ozone precursors (mainly traffic). Reference is also made to several national and regional studies of ozone levels in Europe, which have generally reached the same conclusions as the present Europe-wide analysis.
