Report of the Board of Regents, 1956-1958that one responsible individual might be sent by the Association to verify the remedying of the noted deficiencies. Budget requests for the bien¬ nium have been prepared which will, if granted, reasonably provide for the problem areas just mentioned. The Bureau of Business and Economic Research: One of the most useful adjuncts of the College of Business Administration is the Bureau of Business and Economic Research. This Bureau was established simultaneously with the creation of the College. The first project of the Bureau was the publication of the monthly Nevada Busi¬ ness Review, which carries a summary of eco¬ nomic trends for the state as a whole and for major subdivisions. The Nevada Business Review is read by approximately 4,000 citizens each month. The Bureau has completed a study of projected enrollments of the University of Nevada through 1972. The Bureau is also cooperating in tourist research projects and economic impact studies with the State Highway Department, and the State Department of Economic Development. In October 1957, the Bureau of Business and Economic Research was admitted to full member¬ ship in the Associated University Bureaus of Busi¬ ness and Economic Research. Membership in this organization enables the Bureau to work closely with forty-four other member Bureaus throughout the United States. In summary, the new College of Business and its Bureau of Business and Economic Research have fulfiUed a long felt need on the part of Nevada and its economy. The justification lies in a very satisfactory enrollment, the support of busi¬ nessmen and state agencies, and in the unqualified acceptance by the other Colleges and major divi¬ sions of the University of Nevada. Still further support is expected because Nevada is a state comprised largely of small business operations, particularly hotels, motels, restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation, warehousing, and the wholesale and retail trade. Such activities will undoubtedly lean heavily upon the educational support of the College of Business Administration.
