Business dynamics models : optimization-based one step ahead optimal control

"In this book business dynamics refers to a combination of business management and financial objectives embedded in a dynamical system model. The model is subject to a control that optimizes a performance index that takes both management and finance into account. The central idea in this book is the concept of one step ahead optimal control and its global version, which is referred to as omniscient control and serves as a theoretical benchmark. The solutions presented in this book are intended to provide a rationale for the use of optimal control and to provide guidelines for further investigation into more complex models . It is also possible to use the formulations presented in a so-called "flight simulator mode" to investigate different complex scenarios."
