Can “Degrowth” Be an Alternative Path to Address the Environmental Crisis?

The purpose of this article is to question these alternative models and whether they would actually improve environmental quality. From the modeling, three main results emerged. First, Saudi Arabia is shown to be converging toward a model of sustainability and sustainable development, despite having enormous oil resources. Second, the Indian model translates into a delicate situation, because it risks not being able to replace its current model of growth with one centered around Degrowth. Third, Scandinavian countries are the best representations of how this model could work
