Das "Bildungsnetzwerk WINFOLine" ist seit 1997 im Bereich Higher Education tätig und hat seinen Schwerpunkt in der internetbasierten Aus- und Weiterbildung im Bereich Wirtschaftsinformatik mittels qualitativ hochwertigen Bildungsangeboten. Die vier Lehrstühle des Kernteams arbeiten seit 1997 in einer interuniversitären Bildungskooperation zusammen, zunächst gefördert von der Bertelsmann- und der Heinz Nixdorf Stiftung im Projekt WINFOLine Wirtschaftsinformatik Online und seit Mitte 2001 im Rahmen des Förderprojektes "Neue Medien in der Bildung" (www.medien-bildung.net) als Bildungsnetzwerk WINFOLine. Die Partner bringen gemäss ihrer Kernkompetenzen und unter Berücksichtigung von pädagogisch-didaktischen Gesichtspunkten selbst erstellte WBTs (Web-based Training) ein, diese werden seit dem Wintersemester 1998/99 standortübergreifend mittels einer internetbasierten Lernumgebung in der Lehre eingesetzt; sie sind in bestehende Curricula der vier Partneruniversitäten integriert und lassen sich examenswirksam einbringen. Die Partner bieten dadurch an ihren jeweiligen Heimatuniversitäten ein breites Bildungsspektrum an, durch die gemeinsame Nutzung der Bildungsinhalte ergibt sich für die Studierenden ein breitgefächertes Angebot.
