Characteristics of Effective Audit Committees in Federal, State and Local Governments - This AGA research project demonstrated that audit committees can improve financial management and overall governance of governments at all levels. The research identifies best practices and good ideas, which may be useful to governments that have an audit committee or are thinking about establishing one.
