Consuming the Environment – A Study of Those Utilising the Natural Environment for Recreational Activities

This document presents the initial summary results from the ‘Consuming the Environment’ research project. It presents data from 445 respondents, exploring the lifestyle choices of those that use the natural environment for their recreational activities. The survey, conducted in late 2011, targeted members of outdoor recreation associations and general members of the public interested in using the natural environment for their leisure activities. The data presents a range of summary tables including motivation, recreational activities, LOV constructs, Voluntary Simplicity actions, environmental concern constructs and trade offs in purchasing social/environmentally responsible goods
