DEVELOPING BETTER REGULATION AND POLICY

The government’s main objective in developing better regulation and policy is to reduce the regulatory burden on small businesses, particularly those which act as a barrier to start-up and growth, and improve the ability of small businesses to sell to the public sector.The purpose of this section is twofold:• To provide an overview of the evidence which explains why the government is putting in place a range of activities and actions to improve regulation and policy affecting small business.• To outline how the government will monitor and evaluate success in achieving its objective and highlight the main gaps in the evidence base that will need to be filled if policy is to be further developed and improved.[...]
