Digitalisation of travel documents and facilitation of travel : summary

This report presents the findings of the Special Eurobarometer 536 on the Digitalisation of travel documents and Facilitation of travel, which was carried out between May 10th and June 5th, 2023. 26,358 respondents, representative of the European population, were interviewed across the 27 EU Member States. The survey presents a snapshot of Europeans' travel habits to or outside the Schengen area - their prior travel experiences and future travel expectations - including issues and problems they have encountered during their previous journeys. Moreover, it focuses on their perception of the importance of travel policies related to travel facilitation, including the introduction and utility of Digital Travel Credentials (DTCs).
