Ecological Risk Assessment of Zinc Metal in Different Varieties of Wheat Irrigated with Wastewater Regimes : Assessing the Public Health Risk

Concerns over water contamination have prompted a review of the hazards posed by waterborne contaminants. The use of waste water irrigated wheat grains and rate of water irrigation to wheat crops is a critical exposure element that must be included in the risk assessment of water pollutants. Water consumption habits, on the other hand, vary greatly depending on a number of factors, including geography, culture, and time. Although the health risk index (HRI) for Zinc (Zn) from the soil sample region appears to be less than one, it may surpass one owing to long-term eating of grains grown in contaminated soil. The following are the primary findings and the procedure for obtaining conclusions from the risk assessment: Zinc metal and compounds may pose environmental concerns at the local and regional levels in surface water, sediment, and soil.
