Economic Development and Foreign Investment Linkages

The exposure of a country to foreign investment depends inter alia on its size and its level of development. The connection between economic development and foreign investment exposure can be modelled by a cyclical pattern. Country size is an explanatory variable for foreign investment in the domestic market, but not for a country's direct investment abroad.
