Economic, Social and Territorial Situation of France

This note provides an overview of France, its political, economic and administrativesystem, together with a description of European Union support to France, and theOperational Programmes contained in the National Strategic Reference Frameworkfor the period 2007-2013.Special attention is given to the border between France and Spain in theLanguedoc-Roussillon and the cross-border cooperation of the local and regionalauthorities in this area.The note has been prepared in the context of the Committee on RegionalDevelopment's delegation to France, 29-31 October 2012.
