Enterprise System Architecture for Interorganisational Integration

This paper examines issues connected with enterprise systems design and architecture in the context of inter-organisational integration. This study starts with the definition and characteristics of enterprise systems. Next, it discusses the concept of integration focusing on issues imposed by enterprise system context and inter-organisational cooperation. Subsequently, this paper examines enterprise system architecture needed for inter-organisational integration and describes component-based design and service-oriented architecture.
