Entrepreneurial Network Effects : Empirical Observations of Entrepreneurial Networks in a World of Complexity

This paper distinguishes entrepreneurial network effects from the firm effects and industry effects that have been the focus of much of the literature about the economics of technological change and the economics of industrial organization. A method of identifying entrepreneurial networks is described, explained, and then illustrated with hypothesis tests about entrepreneurial network effects engendered by those networks. The method could be applied to identify social networks more generally and allow more powerful hypothesis tests about the effects of those networks
