This baseline examines the relevant aspects of the current state of the environment within the study area in relation to: biodiversity, flora and fauna; population and human health; soils, geology and sediment; water and water quality; air quality and climatic factors; materials assets; cultural heritage; and landscape/seascape. These issue areas reflect those typically included in SEAs undertaken on plans/ programmes.
