Europeans' attitudes towards EU energy policy : summary report

The current survey was commissioned by the Directorate-General for Energy to canvas EU citizens' opinion about a range of issues relating to EU energy policy including: What a European energy policy means to citizens; In which areas the European Union has provided added value for Member States, and whether the EU should have a stronger role in coordination on energy policy; What citizens believe the outcomes of implementing the climate neutrality target will be and what energy measures should be prioritised to help achieve it; How EU measures should help to secure more affordable energy, and to make EU businesses more competitive; What changes citizens have made to reduce energy consumption in their daily life and at home; Whether they have considered joining a renewable energy community; Whether EU energy labels have influenced appliance purchases; Citizens' opinions about the EU coordination role on energy matters, and what the EU priorities on energy issues should be over the next five years.
