Evaluation of the entropy for Maxwell molecules
The temporal dependence of the Boltzmann entropy is explicitly written for an isotropic velocity distribution of Maxwell molecules. The entropy is given as an expansion in powers of the Laguerre moments of the distribution. Approximations are considered, and comparison with the exact values is performed for the BKW-mode and for a fundamental positive solution.
