Final report on the evaluation of the Quality Care Pharmacy Program
The Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCPP) is a quality assurance 'self-regulation' program for pharmacy that consists of an integrated system of performance standards, supporting tools and processes. QCPP was launched in March 1998. Program materials include: - a manual of 110 Pharmacy Standards concerning professional services, retail skills, business management and loss prevention, - 68 Pharmacy Team Standards concerned with business readiness, pharmacist support, customer service, stock management and preventing loss, and, - various other support material including a reference manual, a video and a CD ROM. This evaluation seeks to assess the impact of QCPP on: - Quality of services offered by community pharmacy - Cost-effectiveness of services - Satisfaction of customers - Benefits to governments in health outcomes and budget outlays - Consider how QCPP may be improved recognising the next Government-Guild Agreement and also seeks to evaluate the QCPP in terms of its strategy, implementation and outcomes and to suggest possible improvements to the program.
