Geographic Concentration and Structure of Wages in Developing Countries: the Case of Uruguay.

In this paper we are concerned with studying the consequences of geographic concentration of population and economic activities on the increase of inequality observed in the Uruguayan labour market. The external effects of geographic concentration, which caracterizes most developing countries, on factor productivity should be to increase wages in these areas with respect to more dispersed regions.
