GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN EVENT MANAGEMENT

Sustainable logistics concepts mainly focus on strategicdecision levels for example in supply chain design,warehouse location and standard transport mode selectiondecisions. This paper is addressing a more operativeapproach and analyzing green concepts for day-to-daylogistics decisions, commonly discussed as supply chainevent management concepts in order to speed up andimprove such decisions e.g. by semi-automated software anddecision systems. As the authors show in such automatedoperative decisions systems a green approach at least ininformation providing has to be discussed and can bringhuge benefits for sustainable logistics in practice. Asdecisions will include provided information aboutenvironmental impacts operative logistics solutions areassumed to be more environmentally friendly than before.
