Guidelines for promoting sustainable agriculture in Alpine mountain regions

This publication reports on a three-year experiment to promote sustainable agriculture in four local mountain areas and presents a new methodological approach to ensure stakeholder participation. This new approach addresses the following different key aspects of European policies: the contribution of sustainable agriculture to rural development, multi-actors and their role in participative diagnosis and action, and agriculture's potential role in providing new services to society.
