Handbook for the European Tertiary Education Register data collection : 2025

This document provides a description of the data collection methodology for the ETER data collection, i.e. the main data collection on individual Higher Education Institutions undertaken with National Authorities; this data collection is part of the broader data provided for the European Higher Education Sector Observatory (EHESO). The handbook provides basic definitions, the perimeter for data collection, classification schemes for data, the definition of variables and guidelines for data collection and quality control. This version is updated as of April 2025 and has been adopted for the ETER data collection 2022 (as well as for updating the former data collected).
