Hierarchical Modeling of Critical Factors of Coopetition for Improved Business Performance in it Organizations : An Empirical Analysis

This study aims to identify the key factors of coopetition that enable organizations to collaborate with competitors and drive joint product innovation, leading to improved profitability. A hierarchical framework is developed using modified Total Interpretive Structural Modelling (M-TISM) and was validated using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) and case analysis of high-tech IT organizations. The modified total interpretive structural modeling (M-TISM) technique was utilized to examine the interrelationships among the critical coopetition factors, contributing to a deeper understanding of the concept. This research further validates the paths and links in the coopetition model through empirical methods such as PLS-SEM and case analysis in the context of high-tech IT organizations. This study deepens the understanding of coopetition and provides organizations with insights on how these factors can be leveraged to develop coopetition strategies for enhanced firm performance. The findings also revealed the interrelation among the coopetition factors and their relevance for technical knowledge exchange, reduced R&D costs, and secure knowledge transfer. Further research may use expert opinions and structural equation modelling to validate the model. This study provides novel insights into coopetition through the use of M-TISM and empirical validation via PLS-SEM, specific to high-tech IT organizations
