Information Management in the Property Industry: A Case Study of alignment of Business Needs and IT Opportunities.

Many property organisations fail to realise the potential that effective Information Management can bring to an existing organisation’s business processes. It is the research aim to use quantitative analysis, by utilising the framework developed by the Information Management Book of Knowledge (IMBOK), to assess how effective information is management within a large property organisation in terms of the perception of staff members on all levels. The findings will disclose the significant differences in the perceptions of ability in different divisions that make up a large property organisation. An investigation in the perceptions of information management competencies revealed that improving the business processes and operations could improve the alignment and business strategy and IT opportunities. The findings have provided guidance in further investigative directions that need to be researched.
