Is Alternative Justice Just : Adr Program Characteristics and Employee Fairness and Trust Perceptions

Current employees (n = 301) of a Fortune 500 company considering the implementation of an ADR program evaluated scenarios describing four, commonly used programs. Mandatory programs were rated as less fair than voluntary ones, but there was no significant difference in the preference for a combined mediation-arbitration program over a mediation program alone. Perceptions of fairness were associated with post-intervention trust in the employer.
