Islamic Assessment of Thuggery among Muslims Youth in Nasarawa State Between 2003-2019
Youths prefer an autonomous and independent life that is free from adult control, thereby engaging in various delinquent acts like substance abuse, rape, robbery, cultism, hooliganism and vandalism that are dangerous to the home, community, school and the nation at large. The effect of thuggery among youths has been a stigma of moral decadence, violence, assault, madness and murder. This research attempts to provide the Islamic assessment of the concept of youth, thuggery in Nasarawa State, causes of youth involvement in thuggery, effects and solution of thuggery particularly among the Muslim youths in Nasarawa State. The method of data collection was through the use of questionnaires which were distributed to target respondents within the study area which is Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The result of the investigation shows that 50.36% of the Muslim youths in Nasarawa State are involved in thuggery in one way or the other
