Numerical Study on External Environmental Radiation of Nuclear Ramjet Reactor Tory-Ii C

Nuclear ramjet reactor has few radiation shielding measures, which would throw off huge amounts of radiation release to the external environment during and after the reactor operation. It is of great significance to study external environmental radiation of this type reactor. In this paper, the American designed nuclear ramjet reactor Tory II-C is selected as research objective. The radiation caused by the radioactive fission products is studied. The point kernel integral method is adopted to analyse the external environmental dose equivalent rate distribution after 10 hours full power operation. The numerical results show that the radioactivity increases gradually with time and finally reaches [[EQUATION]] Bq and the gamma radiation accounts for the main part. The maximum dose equivalent rate on the outer surface of Tory II-C shielding layer can reach [[EQUATION]] Sv/h. This paper provide methodology basis for radiation analysis of nuclear ramjet reactor
