Pengaruh Karakteristik Kader Posyandu Terhadap Kemampuan Dalam Penemuan Dini Kasus Tersangka Tuberkulosis Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Mandala Kecamatan Medan Tembung

Lung Tuberculosis still becomes a health problem in Indonesia. Based on the result of the survey conducted at Mandala Health Center, Medan Tembung Sub district, the TB case increased every year, for example, it increased from 108 cases in 2008 to 121 cases in 2009. This incident was related to job of the cadres of Posyandu (Integrated Health Service Post) in inventorying those developing lung TB who did not visit the health center.The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the characteristics cadre of Posyandu on the ability in early finding those developing Tuberculosis in the working area of Mandala health center. This research was survey explanatory. The population of this study were all of cadre of Posyandu of Mandala health center, as many as 200 and 67 of them were selected to be the samples through proportional sampling technique. The data for this study were obtained through questionnaire based interviews. The data obtained were analyzed through multiple regression test at α = 0.05.The result of this study showed that the characteristics of the cadres (age, occupation, education, income, reward, length of work, and knowledge) had significant influence on their ability to find those developing tuberculosis. Reward was the most dominant variable influenced the ability of cadres of Posyandu in finding those developing Tuberculosis.It is suggested to City Health Office of Medan to: 1) increase the knowledge and capability of the cadres of Posyandu through training and regular seminar especiallly on TB with trained health workers together in identification those suffering from TB, 2) make the budget policy to provide an extra incentive the cadres of Posyandu who find suffering from TB and 3) Mandala health centre and the leader of local neighborhood should consider to promote the Medicine Taking controller (PMO) of those suffering from TB, a cadres of Posyandu.
