Prevailing Privacy and Security Technologies in Smart Cities

It is expected from a smart city that it helps in attaining sustainable development, enhancing functionalities of smart applications and upgrade the standards of urban lifestyle. Taking advantages form IoT, novel concepts for designing and maintaining intelligent cities have been developed. Considering the human requirements, many solutions foregathered in order to build an intelligent city. Privacy and security issues arises while implementing smart application in a smarter world, efficient countermeasures need to be designed for these challenging problems. Dynamic nature, scalability and heterogeneous devices are some of the attributes of smart cities, due to these attributes conventional security techniques alone cannot be used for smart applications. Also, designing of advanced system can be possible, when threats related to privacy of information minimized. In this paper, privacy and security threats arises in an intelligent application, followed by some of aforementioned techniques to counter them have also been discussed
