Problems versus Benefits in Enterprise System Adoption : The Case of a Transition Economy

The main objective of this study is to explore the relationships between problems and benefits that might appear during enterprise system (ES) implementation. The study is based on interviews with 82 practitioners who expressed their opinions about ES project adoptions in Poland, an example of a transition economy. The main findings indicate that informational and IT infrastructure benefits can be achieved despite the initial problems with system and IT infrastructure.
