Somalia : country focus : May 2025

The purpose of this report is to provide relevant information for the assessment of applications for international protection, including refugee status and subsidiary protection. Moreover, the report is intended to inform the update of EUAA's country guidance on Somalia (2025). The report provides an update on relevant profiles and key-socio economic indicators across the country as of March 2025. It builds upon preceding EUAA COI reports, notably the Somalia: Defection, Desertion and Disengagement from Al-Shabaab from February 2023, EUAA COI query Somalia: Forms and prevalence of repeated FGM (April 2023), as well as reports on Targeted profiles, Key socio-economic indicators, and Actors, which were published in the period July-September 2021.
