State and pressures of the marine and coastal Mediterranean environment

Human activity, including tourism, puts increasing pressure on a Mediterranean Sea that is still remarkably alive in spite of many problems, particularly in coastal areas. The report, prepared by the EEA and its European Topic Centre on the Marine and Coastal Environment in co-operation with the Mediterranean Action Plan, presents an overview of the Mediterranean marine and coastal environment.
