Study on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for the submission of waste shipment documents and information : final report

This study consists of a reporting package which defines the technical and organisational requirements for the practical implementation of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for the submission of documents and information in accordance with the newly amended Article 26(4) of Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006. It describes the protocol of data exchange forming the basis for the Commission to adopt an implementing act establishing the technical and organisational requirements for the practical implementation of EDI for the submission of documents and information. This report makes up the reporting package and includes an introduction to the study, the solution overview, technical annexes and links to accompanying documents. It is made up of the following main sections: - The first section (Introduction to Waste Shipment Regulation) outlines the context of Waste Shipment Regulation, describes the scope of the project, defines the used methodology and provides an overview of the current situation. - The second section (Solution overview) covers aspects of the proposal related to integration, communication and security. - The third section (Links to related annexes) lists the individual annexes providing technical details of the proposal: data model, functional/non-functional requirements and services. - The fourth section (Links to annexes) refers to additional information used in the study, such as survey results and feedback from Waste Shipment Regulation stakeholders and the additional resources generated. - The fifth section (Conclusion) sums up the main aspects of the project. - Finally, included as separated annexes: Domain Objects, Requirements Model and Service Definition.
