Study on Path of the Solutions For Nimbyism In China : Case Study Based on Qca Method
This research aims to find out the configuration of factors that influence the NIMBY result so the government can choose proper developing path and respect the interest of local residents. Qualitative Comparative Analysis with fuzzy set (fsQCA) is applied on 31 cases happened in China between 2009 and 2021. The result shows that social media is the factor with highest explanatory power. There are seven configurations that can lead to the anti-Growth Alliance’s satisfaction, and government feedback, facility type and economic level can effectively influence the result. It’s not the best solution for government to compromise all the time. Construction of a multiple participants system, proper use of online platform and daily popularization of science are three possible ways to gain the neighborhood satisfaction while maintaining the development of local economy in NIMBYism
