Summary factsheets on EU funded integrated pest management projects : presented during the research and innovation (R&I) webinar on pesticides and integrated pest management held on 11-12 February 2025

a This document contains a series of summary factsheets on some relevant EU-funded projects related to Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM is a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture, reducing reliance on chemical pesticides while maintaining crop health. It is also a core element of the Sustainable Use of Pesticides Directive. The factsheets were first presented during a Two-Day Research and Innovation Webinar organised by DG SANTE and DG AGRI, focusing on Pesticides and IPM. The aim is to facilitate the dissemination of key outputs (e.g. results, resources, toolbox, guidelines) developed by recent and ongoing projects. The projects covered include: - IPM WORKS - IPM Decisions - SmartProtect Shorter factsheets are also included with information on newer projects to facilitate national officials and stakeholders who want to engage with those projects at an early stage: - RENOVATE - AdvisoryNetPest While the main audience for these factsheets is national officials working in the field of crop protection and IPM, they are also valuable for other stakeholders. The factsheets provide concise, high-level summaries to help readers quickly familiarise themselves with the project outcomes, while also offering direct links to further resources. They include practical tools and guidelines such as IPM-related factsheets, toolboxes, platforms and databases. Additionally, they provide insights into best practices for establishing IPM networks, guidelines for demonstration plans, and research on incentives and barriers to adoption of decision support systems, among other valuable resources. The factsheets have been prepared as part of a collaborative pilot project between DG SANTE unit F3 ("Plants") and DG AGRI unit F2 ("Research and Innovation"), aimed at bringing the main outcomes of EU-funded projects closer to the national authorities. They were developed in close cooperation with the projects themselves, ensuring accuracy and relevance. All the information included in the factsheets is sourced directly from the respective project websites.
