Supply Chain Management Risks Impact on Logistics Performance in Bicycle Industry : Assessment Trough Business Process Reengineering

Bicycle manufacturing supply chain management is central to providing product and services at the right place, right time, right delivery and right price. The way supply chains are operated has a massive impact on the speed and quality of service that can be provided. Supply chain risks and challenges are among the factors that can adversely affect the performance of an organization and may even lead to closure of an organization. Knowing how to anticipate and manage supply chain risks is therefore an important approach to maintain a competitive advantage. This paper presents how to evaluate the impact of the risks in relation to the functioning of a supply chain on its logistical performance. The data collected allows to successively measuring the impact of the risks linked to the management of Performance related risks, Information and knowledge risks, Market and Environment risks and supply chain firms overall performance and the upstream supply chain, of operational risks and risks linked to the management of the downstream supply chain on the logistical performance. Two types of analyses were carried out: the descriptive analysis which constitutes in the purification of the scales of measurement and the factor analysis which is based on the realization of correlative tests and models of comparison of means. stratified sampling method is used on selecting respondents, Regression analysis to establish the relationship between Supply chain management risks and performance. A principal component analysis (PCA) was done with SPSS. The results of the test of discriminant validity after a Varimax rotation with a Kaiser normalization having converged in four iterations are presented. The study was conducted on a total of 600 respondents. The paper concludes with a note by proper management of supply chain management risks and supply chain firm challenges would lead to increase in supply chain firm’s performance
