Título: Quebra dos Contratos de Soja Verde

O desenvolvimento do complexo agroindustrial da soja no Brasil deu-se, em parte, comodecorrência do surgimento de formas alternativas de crédito, tal como a venda antecipada desoja por meio de contratos. O problema que motivou este estudo foi decorrente das quebrascontratuais por parte dos produtores rurais em um momento de expressiva alta do preço em2003 e 2004. O principal objetivo é analisar como este ambiente de negócios reagiu a essesfatos. Para responder a esta pergunta foi realizada uma pesquisa quantitativa com 70produtores rurais. Os efeitos das quebras contratuais podem ser percebidos por meio da maiorexigência de garantias e a da redução do número de contratos. Os produtores que nãoquebraram seus contratos também foram negativamente afetados com as novas estratégiasadotadas pelas empresas compradoras de soja. Portanto, os custos de transação aumentarampara todos os agentes, bem como a importância de sanções econômicas. The development of the soybean agribusiness complex in Brazil took place, in part, as aconsequence of credit alternative forms, such as the soybean anticipated sale by contracts. Theproblem which has motivated this study was the contractual breaches during an expressiveincrease of price in 2003 and 2004. The main objective is to analyze how this businessenvironment reacted after those facts. Quantitative survey has been carried out with 70farmers to answer the question. The effects of these breaches can be realized such as morerequirements of warranties and the reduction in the number of contracts. Those farmers whodid not breach their contracts also have been negatively affected by the strategic reactions oftrading and industries. Therefore, the transaction costs have been increased for all the agentsand the importance of economic sanctions has increased as well.
