The Level of Development of Austria's Industrial Regions

Austria can be divided into eight industrial regions, each with specific locational and productive characteristics. A different level of economic development corresponds to each regional category. Thus, a breakdown by regions rather than a breakdown by sectors is better able to explain the East-West gradient in the recent development of Austrian manufacturing.
