What Have We Learned from College Entrance Exams as a Requirement for Admission? An Empirical Application Using 2019 University of Liberia Entrance Data
This study utilizes Quantile regression as one of the tools to estimate the predictor variables effects of college entrance examination examinees’ across different quantiles. Comparing the two results of the Quantile regression and Linear regression, the estimates of the Intended College Program differ substantially from those computed from the Linear regression. At the 1st percentile, the unstandardized English score of examinees is predicted to decrease by 4.146 percentage points. In the linear case, there will be a 3.559 percentage point decrease on average.
