Work package 3 : algae potential for (waste)water treatment and fertilisers/biostimulants production : annex to the final report

This report examined the potential for integrating algae cultivation with nutrient recovery in two scenarios: (i) the integration of algae cultivation with wastewater or effluent treatment; and (ii) the cultivation of macroalgae in eutrophicated open waters. The resulting biomass is intended for use in fertilising products, and a legal analysis was carried out to assess the implications of using wastewater or effluent for this purpose, with a particular focus on the European market.
