Asymptotically Nuisance-Parameter-Free Consistent Tests of Lp-Functional Form
Hill, Jonathan - Department of Economics, Florida International University - 2006
We develop a consistent conditional moment test of Lp-best predictor functional form, 1p=2. Our main result is a reduction of the nuisance parameter space to the set of integers which greatly simplifies asymptotic theory, and allows for removal of the nuisance parameter in a mechanical fashion....

Maximin and Bayesian optimal designs for regression models
Dette, Holger; Haines, Linda M.; Imhof, Lorens A. - 2003
For many problems of statistical inference in regression modelling, the Fisher information matrix depends on certain nuisance parameters which are unknown and which enter the model nonlinearly. A common strategy to deal with this problem within the context of design is to construct maximin...

Limit to improvement in running and swimming
Chang, Yu Sang; Baek, Seung Jin - In: International Journal of Applied Management Science 3 (2011) 1, pp. 97-120
Can human performance continue to improve indefinitely? Or improvement will eventually slow down due to the existence of maximum limit? In this paper, the world records of 61 sport events in running and swimming through the last hundred years have been analysed to answer the question about the...
