The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is the largest tertiary institution in Hong Kong in terms of number of students. It comprises a family of 3,500 staff members, 30,000 students, and 310,000 graduates. There are 27 academic departments and units grouped under six faculties and two schools, offering a total of more than 180 programmes ranging from research and taught postgraduate to undergraduate and sub-degree levels, including a number of programmes that are unique in Hong Kong. Over the years, PolyU has been highly commended for its commitment to nurturing professionals and leaders for society, and engaging in research that has impact and practical value.

The Pao Yue-kong Library

With library holdings of over 2.6 million items, the Pao Yue-kong Library comprises one of the largest collections of scientific, engineering and business materials in East Asia. Currently, the Library holds around 2,300 active print serial titles, and provides web access to over 49,000 unique full-text e-journal titles, 475,000 e-books, and a vast collection of multi-media resources. Customer-oriented services are provided by over 140 Library staff.

PolyU Institutional Repository

The Library also maintains the PolyU Institutional Repository (PolyU IR), which collects, makes available, showcases, preserves and enhances the discovery of the research and scholarly output created by the PolyU community.
