CeBER and Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra

The Faculty of Economics (FEUC), created in 1972, is one of the eight faculties of the University of Coimbra, dating from 1290, one of the oldest in Europe and the oldest in Portugal. Its first courses in Economics, launched in the 1973-74 academic year, were followed by three other degrees: Sociology, Management, and International Relations.FEUC has approximately 2,600 students, 40% of which enrolled in Masters and PhD level courses, and approximately 110 members of the teaching staff.

The Centre for Business and Economics Research (CeBER) aggregates the research activity in these disciplines performed by researchers, faculty and students from the University of Coimbra, welcoming also researchers and faculty from other institutions. It pursues the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge, supporting the research activity of post-graduate students, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among its members, as well as collaboration with other research institutions. Currently, the research activity of CeBER is strategically oriented towards Organizational innovation and development, Institutions and policies for sustainable development, and Health decisions and policy.

FEUC and CeBER publish the academic journal Notas Economicas (JEL-indexed) and the CeBER Working Papers series (indexed in RePEC).
