Accessibility Declaration

The ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics aims to make the website https://zbw.eu accessible to all in accordance with the provisions of the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Federal Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology (BITV) for the implementation of the EU Directive 2016/2102.

This web presence is partially accessible. It meets with some of the requirements of BITV 2.0. We are currently working to make the other sections accessible, too.

At present, this website offers no explanations in German Sign Language. The website is currently undergoing a fundamental revision; as soon as it is finished, content in German Sign Language will be added.

The website editors take great efforts to keep texts understandable. However, technical terms cannot always be avoided. These address the core target groups of this internet presence.

 Arbitration procedure

The German Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities provides an Arbitration Service in according with Section 16 of the BGG. The Arbitration Service is tasked to solve conflicts between people with disabilities and public agencies of the Federal Government.

You can appeal to the Arbitration Services if you are not satisfied with answers resulting from the contact named above. It is not a matter of finding winners or losers. The goal is to find a solution to a problem together and out of court with the help of the Arbitration Service.

The arbitration procedure is free of charge. You do not need legal counsel.

The internet page of the Arbitration Service provides all the information about the arbitration procedure. There you can read how the procedure works and how you can request an arbitration. You can also make the request in Easy Language or German Sign Language.
