16th EABCN Traning School: 'Forecasting Inflation' - Euro Area Business Cycle Network
This course covers empirical methods for inflation forecasting. However, many of the principles that seem to be useful in predicting inflation turn out to be important on other forecasting contexts too. For example, in inflation prediction and in other contexts, models which are very simple and do not involve the estimation of many parameters turn out to be at or near the frontier of forecasting performance. Although the course is about inflation forecasting, the course will have spillovers to the broader issue of predicting macroeconomic and financial time series.
