5th Annual Banking Research Conference
In addition, this year's conference will incorporate thematic sessions exploring the link between financial sector integrity, emerging risks and economic growth. We encourage the submission of papers that address issues related to financial sector integrity in a period of new and heightened risks regarding: Operational, Legal, and Reputation Risks, Consumer Financial Services Risks, and Low-Income Family's Access to Financial Services. These thematic sessions will focus on questions such as: Have these new risks altered investor behavior? Should deposit insurance related constraints on bank acquisitions (10% cap) be relaxed? Do they have implications for future economic growth? How have institutions and instruments adapted to minimize these risks? Is the array of financial services that are available adequate for all income levels of society? Are consumer and investor protections adequate? Have appropriate legal and regulatory responses to emerging risks been implemented? How costly and effective are these new policies?
