Central bank liquidity - Centre for Central Banking Studies
This event will provide an overview of liquidity forecasting techniques and how a central bank should respond to the differing challenges of a surplus or a shortage of liquidity. Topics: - an analysis of the central bank’s balance sheet, including currency in circulation, government balances and net foreign assets; - the role of liquidity forecasting in open market operations; - the sources of surplus liquidity; and - the differences between a surplus of liquidity and a shortage of liquidity for monetary operations.
